The recent rise of COVID positive cases and vaccine shortage in Kerala has become a concern for the authorities and the public at large. While the health department expects to normalise in three weeks, health minister KK Shailaja requested a centre for more doses of vaccine.

A medical professional told media, In Thiruvananthapram about 30000 doses were administered every day, currently 15000 are in stock. Similar situation continues in other districts as well.

The centre has informed by April 20 next batch of vaccine will arrive in Kerala. Until then the states plan the distribution of vaccine to conduct mega camps with the support of local bodies. This drive plans to vaccinate everyone over the age of 45 within a month.
