Joe Biden, US president, nominated Rashad Hussain, an Indian American ambassador at significant international religious freedom.

Hussain is a director for partnerships and global commitment at the National Security Council. He is the first Muslim to be nominated to handle US diplomacy for facilitating religious liberties. Hussain has also served as the US special envoy to Islamic cooperation the strategic counterterrorism communications. During the Obama administration, he was also the deputy associate for the white house counsel.
