IMF’s chief economist Gita Gopinath proposed to leave her current job early next year and enter back at the prestigious Harvard University.

Gopinath, the Indian American economist got associated International Monetary Fund in 2019 January as the Chief Economist. Earlier she was the John Zwaanstra Professor of International Studies and economics at Harvard University.

Gopinath is the third woman in the records of Harvard to be a tenured professor of the economics department and the first Indian to hold this position.
