A palm-shaped device developed by researchers at KJ Hospital research and postgraduate centre in Chennai detects covid-19 within seven seconds. The low-cost device detects millivolt electricity when a person keeps their palm on the device. The unite consideration parameters like zeta potential, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body temperature and blood count. The researchers argue those infected with Covid will detect 5-15 mV reading. The device costs around 10,000 INR for development and hopes that the manufacturing partner can produce it for a lesser price.
The team has already filed a patent for the device and published a research paper progressing.
