Twitter on Thursday confirmed that the account of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s website was hacked with a series of tweets seeking a donation from followers for relief fund through cryptocurrency.

In July several other accounts of prominent personalities were hacked. Twitter stated they are aware of this incident and will take the initiative to secure the compromised account.

Hackers have reached out Twitter’s internal systems to hijack other platform’s of top prominent personalities including of former US President Barack Obama, US presidential candidate Joe Biden and Billionaire Elon Musk and have used them to propose digital currency.
