An active youth transgender who works with marginalised youth through a non-profitable organisation of LGBT in West Bengal stats that it would be traumatising for the lesbian, gay. bisexual and transgender (LGBT) patients to stay in male or female isolation divisions in hospitals during their trial COVIND-19.
If any LGBT persons catch coronavirus, they would be forced to stay either in the male or female isolation room. During the times the person would feel more traumatised if another person in the isolation ward discriminates against LHBT patient.
Former transgender board member Ranjitah Sinha told to news, the community is facing “a dangerous situation. I have sent a letter to the central and state government over the matter of isolation wards for the LGBT community.
We too belong to this society and are human beings. The government should take initiatives for this community soon.
