Kerala to install special courts in all districts in Kerala to deal with POCSO cases

The state government will establish special courts in all districts following the supreme court rule querying critical action to check sexual offences against children.

The apex court ordered to set up a special court in every district will acquire more than a hundred cases under the protection of Children of Sexual Offences Act, are reported.

Currently, POCSO courts are operating in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Wayanad and Kozhikode.

Following the Supreme Court strict order to implement the order, it is acquired that the order will take some more time.

Responding to the court order POCSO courts legal expert Adv D B Binu stated that the courts must be stabilised with an ambience which is comfortable for children. “At any price, the accused and the child should not be connected at the court. Arrangements should design such a way that the children feel relaxed and happy. I think it is difficult to establish the court order within 60 days by following all the rules.
