The state finance department has determined to implement Rs 5374 crore for acquiring land for national highway development Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board. The amount will be granted to the National Highways Authority, hence the obstacles for national highway development in the state has been cleared.
The land price in Kerala is multiple times higher than in other states. The estimated expense for the developmental works for Rs 45m wide and 600km long NH is Rs 44.000 crore. For the land acquisition alone it is required for about Rs 21 496.
The finance department of the state acknowledge the fact and decided to provide Rs 5374 crore through KIIFB. Based on the next meeting of KIIFB Director Board meet the fund will be approved and transfer shortly.
