Resources inclined to talk about the difficulty of land degradation are lacking and it is essential to mobilise private investors for the purpose of land restoration. We are still deficient of resources that are needed to transpose the trend of degradation we are seeing today. Stated Ibrahim Thiaw, executive secretary of UNCCD at COP14.
According to specialists, critical land degradation is adversely affecting 158 countries across the globe. Around 29.93 per cent of India’s total landmass is affected due to land degradation of which India targets to restore its target of 26 million hectors by 2030.
