Indian’s cine star, Amitabh Bachchan conferred with Indian cinema’s highest honour, Dadasaheb Phalke award on Sunday presented by the President Ram Nath Kovind.
The function was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi. Bachchan attended the function with is wife veteran actor MP Jaya Bachchan and son, actor Abhishek Bachchan.
The 77-year-old actor was supposed to receive the award on Monday at the National Film Awards event on Monday. Due to his ill health, the honour was arranged as a special ceremony hosted by the President on Sunday.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award comprises a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a shawl and cash prize of 10,00,000 INR.
