More than 1,18,000 people were left behind without power on Saturday after category one Hurricane ‘Barry’ storm weakened upon landfall in Mandeville, Louisiana.

As per CNN’s meteorologist, 95 per cent of the storm is still exist in the Gulf of Mexico. Both Mississippi and Louisiana could experience over 20 inches of rain for the next five days.

The city relies heavily on its pump and levee protection system due to susceptible of floods that could occur New Orleans lies below sea level.
